Bertha Jane Wilson

Former McCurtain County, Oklahoma resident Bertha Jane Wilson, 81, passed away February 21, 2005 in Florin Health Care Center, Sacramento, California

A native of Valliant, Oklahoma, Bertha had lived 28 years in the San Francisco Bay area, and the last seven years in Pacifica, California. She loved sewing, quilting, beading, and loved being a Sunday school teacher and youth choir leader. She was proud of her Choctaw heritage and enjoyed going to all Indian events and pow wows. Most of all Bertha loved the Lord and loved to praise Him by singing Choctaw hymns and gospel songs and she loved spending time with family and friends

She was preceded in death by her parents, Felker and Stella Austin, and a brother, Ervin Austin.

Survivors include three brothers, Bill Baken, Buddy Austin, and Benny Austin, all of Valliant; a sister, Eva Parrish, of Riverside County, California; four sons, Jonathan Wilson, of Alaska, Calvin C. Wilson, Jr., of Pacifica, Anthony Wilson, of Los Angeles, California, and Max Wilson of California; one daughter, Linda Wilson of Sacramento; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
